 环球电影工作室将计划于3月28日发售Peter Jackson’s KingKong的特别版DVD，这套DVD将有两个版本：普通版本仅包含一张DVD，而宽屏幕特别版本将包括两张DVD。这两个版本都将于3月28日发售，此外还追加了一些花絮内容，包括《金刚》的制作日记和一些首次公开的内容。普通版本的MSRP价格为$29.98，而特别版本的DVD则为 $30.98。

　　这次发售的两种DVD的艺术设计都是由Weta完成的，Weta负责了《金刚》中的视觉特效任务，此外其还是《指环王》三部曲的特效制作团队。
